People: Dorothy Lloyd wins local photography competition

Dorothy, from the Magic Me Media Group, won a Boroughwide competition for her photo taken whilst documenting our project Can I? I Can! She met Leader of the Council Cllr Lutfur Rahman and received her prize, a Samsung camera, at the LB Tower Hamlets Town Hall in October. Have a look at Dorothy's winning picture and read her story.

Project News: Children and older people begin new Clara Grant Mosaic Project with funding from Investec

Mosaics illustrating the life and work of Clara Grant, local teacher and philanthropist, made by the participants, will be displayed on the outside of Clara Grant Primary School and Fern St Settlement and on the short route between the two buildings. Publications: Moments In Time book launch

The Pen Friends group launched their book of creative writing at the Thomson Reuters building in October 2008. Guest speaker, Barbara Disney, LBTH Commissioning Manager for Older People, praised the quality of the work. The book combines poems from the group and contributions gathered from their 'at home' pen friends by letter, phonecalls and visits. View pictures of the event or purchase the book for £3.00

Funding News: Magic Me Strategic Plan for the future

Thank you to Task Force Trust who are funding a consultant to help us create a new 3 year development plan. An Away Day with core staff and trustees on 12th December at Herbert Smith LLP, international legal practice, began the process. Read more about future plans for Magic Me and recent funders.

Coming Soon: Feast!

Young people from Oaklands School and older people from The Sundial Centre are taking part in a 6 week project that will take them on a culinary adventure. The group, aged 14 to 93 are cooking, budgeting and shopping together, and will create a feast for a community group of their choosing. Read more about Magic Me projects with Oaklands School
