Magic Me has won wide recognition for its innovative and ground-breaking approach
Research and development is an important part of what we do, enabling us to run high quality projects and to understand their impact.
Our research includes work on running intergenerational projects with very different groups of people, designing creative projects and developing effective monitoring.
Action research also includes work in a wide variety of media: publishing, print and banner making, painting and crafts work, puppetry, photography, video, drama and animation.
Magic Me projects are well documented and we have condensed the accumulated experience of this work into several research publications including 'Sharing The Experience': an illustrated guide to setting up and running intergenerational arts projects for practitioners, and 'Getting Everybody Included': a detailed report on the benefits and comlexities of running creative arts projects for people with dementia in a hospital environment. These and other publications are available by mail order direct from Magic Me and further details can be found in the Bookshop section of this site.
In 2009 we published the Our Generations Report, which has been downloaded by over 6,000 people. The Our Generations programme involved over a thousand people and took place between April 2007 and June 2009.The report provides an overview of the programme followed by the findings of Dr Caoimhe McAvinchey who assessed the programme throughout. You can download the full report or a text only version from our Free Downloads section.
Magic Me also runs programmes of both ongoing and occasional training eventsfor arts professionals, the aim of which is to provide valuable information, expertise and learning and to stimulate creative and lively debate amongst practitioners.
